The shadow church
July 30,2008

What is a shadow? A shadow is an unilluminated area: an area where the light of day is blocked. The light is not completely blocked, but casts a muted darkness. Which part of the church do you live in? I know for sure that I lived in the shadow part for many years. My description of the shadow church is that it is composed of pick-and-choose catholics. They take and believe only the parts that they feel good about or accept. In reality, they are fallen away but do not know it, as they think what they pick and choose is ok. You can see in it our “catholic” politicians. Abortion is really not nice they say, but its legal you know. While we can point to these people, we as catholics are just as bad. How many catholics practice contraceptive birth control? How many have just ignored the consequences? In reality, this makes us (them) a shadow catholic. Note that I do not use the capital “C”. How many think it is ok to miss mass, and that confession is not really needed. Surely Jesus will forgive us if we ask Him? There is no Hell, for what kind of loving God would do that. I have even been told by a priest that there really isn’t a thing as sin, but just bad choices! I have heard the press say that there are about a billion Catholics. I often wonder just how many of them are in the shadow. Personally, as a child of the 60’s, I can now see the great shadow that fell upon the church during that time. It fell on me and many many others. That shadow was the introduction of contraceptive birth control, free love, free thinking and the liberal part of the church that seemed to pounce upon all of this. You have heard it, “it’s between you and your conscience”. Of course the real answer is that it is between you and God. Contraceptive birth control has led us to even more evils. Abortion is a direct consequence of this. If life is not all that important, then killing the unborn is just not important either. We seem to have fled from life and responsibility into the evil pit of self and convenience. Soon and very soon, I think that the members of the church will have to make a choice. Will it be life and light, or will we dwell in the shadows? I hope all of you seek the light.

The Death Wish
July 13, 2008

What is a death wish?
A death wish is an unconscious urge to die. Truly the world and especially the United States have a Death Wish. We are unconsciously destroying our country, government and families all in the name of selfish desires. From porn to artificial contraception, to abortion and then to partial-birth abortion and then on to infanticide, we have slipped down the slippery slope into the depths of hell where the evil one is laughing at how stupid and easily misled Gods children are. Not only does this Death Wish destroy our society and bodies, but also kills the soul. If we can see that all the above is useful, needed and good, surely euthanasia of the elderly, mentally ill and sick will be a good and useful thing as well. Not only is the body being killed, but the minds and purity of our children. One might ask why this is being allowed as we sit in front of the mindless monster (TV) eating a sugar and fat filled snack. It all really gets down to who is in control. If our ego (our wants and needs) are the only focus of our lives, then we will be dead. We will be dead to God, our children, our country and ourselves. We will be dead to what is happening to our world. We will just be dying a mindless and unconscious death. Even worse will be the fact that we will keep dying for eternity.

The Author of this Blog feels that we are all approaching an abyss of evil that will destroy all that is good unless we turn off our TVs, unplug our iPods and actually listen to what is happening in this world and in our families and then do something. We are now living in a society that is almost completely ignorant of God. Our society had abandoned our children to a godless educational system that wants every one to fit into a very low level mold where creativity is an unknown quality and where family, sex and moral selection are distorted and blurred. What this gives us are children that have no idea how to even make change, tell time or even tie their shoes. What this gives us are children that have a warped and distorted view of morals, hard work and a lost sense of belonging. How could a world or society actually survive if made up of members like this? As a society, we have failed our children. We have gladly handed them over to some one else. We demand little and give even less. Our children have no heroes except worthless and evil ones, and will become the devils fodder unless we change our ways.

What is the solution?
The solution is really simple. God must be our complete focus. Not just “I believe in God”, for the answer to that is “so does the Devil”. Very few people even go to church and practice their faith. If they did, there would be traffic jams every Sunday morning as we make our way to church. On most Sunday mornings, it is hard to know if the city has been abandoned by its people. In reality, they have abandoned it; they have abandoned their God for late sleep, and the easy way. The solution is Jesus who is love. The solution is not in believing which is required, but is a lie until backed up by good works. It is possible to end up in hell by being a good person who did nothing. I have a strange feeling that this is our last chance at getting up and saying no. It is our last chance at saving our children, and it is our last chance at saving our most wonderful country. For like in the gospel, God will take away His golden tokens of care and blessings and give them to some one who uses them wisely. Like the gospel of today (June 13th, 2008), we seem to have planted our seeds in the weeds and thorns where there is only temporary stunted growth and then death. I think that this is our last chance, and I pray that I am wrong.

May your seeds of love and action be planted in Gods good soil and may they bear fruit 100 fold.

Back to Love
June 18th. 2008

I have written about love many times this year, and I seem to always return to thoughts on it. I think that the reason for that is that I do not do a very good job when it comes to love. Although I am not sure, I can almost hear our Lord asking me about love as I face Him. I am sure He will not ask about what my favorite meal was, but for the loving thanks I gave when I received it. As I said above, I am not sure, but I would probably be right when I say “It is all about love”. In fact everything that God sees as good is about love. Lovingly made and lovingly given. If we have created wonderful things in our lives, well great, but that is just using what God has given us. What is really important are those small little bits of love that we give out. It could be a smile, or a touch or a thank you to some one who was in need at just that time. Patiently listening to friends who are troubled or helping someone you don’t even know. Usually love has no cost for the giver, and has a great value to the one receiving it. The real payback of love is the ripple effect it has on everyone. It is possible to love so much, that we can change people and circumstances forever. A simple smile and kind word can flow out through the person we gave it to and change their day, their family and all the people they came in contact with. Being loving and kind can change all those who are around us. We can all be a source of love and people will want to be around us. Jesus looked upon his children and had great compassion and love for them. If we are in need of love, the best way to receive it is through Jesus. By loving others as He did, we will be paid back if not in this world, then in the next. Yes, when it is all over with, I am sure “It will have all been about love”

Become Love – that is become Christ like
Love from your brother in Christ - Dennis

1 Corinthians 13:4-13
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love will last forever, but prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will all disappear. Now we know only a little, and even the gift of prophecy reveals little! But when the end comes, these special gifts will all disappear.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly as in a poor mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God knows me now.

There are three things that will endure - Faith, Hope, and Love - and that greatest of these is Love.

The missing 74 thousand (aborted children in Texas in 2003)
May 19th. 2008

Where can they be? Where have they gone? I have looked and searched and cried out their names, but to no avail. Are they sleeping in their mothers arms? Are they drawing pictures of the sun? Are they smiling and laughing and dancing and turning around in celebration of just being alive? Where are their songs and their pure “I love you”? Where are their Fathers and mothers? Have they lost them and are in panic as they search them out? Where Oh God are they for you know all things? I have looked for their smiles and giggling. I have looked for their painted pictures all proudly display on walls. Where are their toys? I see none of that Oh Lord. I have traveled to the country and to the town. Looked under bushes and looked all around. But just when I thought I would fail at this search, I found them all slaughtered and disposed of like trash! When what I had seen finally had registered in my brain, I cried out for vengeance and let out a scream. God forbid this to continue for it is all like a bad dream.

Nearly 45 million babies have been killed, slaughtered and ripped from their mothers bodies in the US since Row vs Wade for convenience sake or to “relieve the burden of a baby”. Sources put the number of annual world abortions at 46 million! Praying that God will just forgive and forget this is like thinking the sun will not rise in the morning.

Pray that in the process of God punishing the world for this hideous crime, you will not be an innocent victim like all the aborted babies. The devil is dancing, and you can go and watch him at your local abortion clinic. Oh, is this something you never think about? Sorry I brought it up

The Greatest Commandment
May 18th. 2009

From Matthew - Chapter 22

Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?
Jesus said to him, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment”.

”The second resembles it: You must love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets too”.

Looking out on the world do we see this law being practiced? The answer is that
”yes some do”, but as a whole humanity only loves them selves’. Man living in the world of 2008 is on the very edge of failure and collapse. The world is being used up out of greed and very soon if not at this very moment fail or is failing to support its greedy keepers. If the world is to survive this great attack on its systems, man must very soon return to “The Greatest Commandment”. That command is to love our God and the world he gave us and the people place here to care for it. These commands are rarely heeded and are far diminished. Greed instead of service dominates most activities. In the coming years, if man does not come back to this commandment and love and serve his God and his brothers, the times will be terrible times. We as Christians can start this “Great coming back” and heed this great command. We can start by sacrificing self and look to our neighbors and families as our responsibility by understanding and caring for their needs. We can start now to be loving care takers of this world instead of greedy consumers. Eating an evening meal that came from 15 different countries is an insane use of Gods world. As love of family and neighbor starts as a local activity, so should our activities of caring for this world start locally. God created all of us and this world for his glory. By coming back to “The Greatest Commandment”, we can keep it that way.

God is Love
May 03, 2008

Before the world, before man or any creature was. Before there was anything that man could touch, hear or taste there was God. That God was in no need of anything and was perfect in all regards. One of the great parts of God, but no less or more than any other part was Love. This love was love that the Father had for the Son and the Son for the Father. This love and action came forth through the action of the Spirit. In good time, but not as we know it, God willed to create through the Son and in action of the Spirit the world as we see it. While the world was wonderful and beautiful and perfect, God also
created man not as he created the universe but in His glorious image and likeness. It was love that God created from, and he created His children as He knew each of them before there was time or creation. Each created was in the image of the Son and had a soul or spirit that would live forever because of His most perfect will. God creates through love and each of us who are created was created through it. God has a great plan for His creation, and longs for each of us to return to Him through the action of our love placed there in each of us through the Spirit. Man can not love properly unless the love is placed their by God, as any other love is corrupt and has no value before our Creator. Gods plan for all creation is to create through each one of us. In this great loving action, God has placed His great plan of creation in the hands of the created. While mans time in the physical realm is short, for those who follow His word will share all that is God for eternity. No one knows what God has planed for His children in eternity, but a perfect and infinite God can do infinitive and perfect things for His most loved and faithful children

There is only one way to love, and that is to love as and through the Son, as the Father has given all to Him. Love as Christ loved, give and forgive as Christ has given and forgiven and we will give and forgive with Gods love. When we see our brothers and sisters, seek Christ in their face, and in seeing Him there love them as you would love Christ. Love your self as God loves you with a burning love and wants us to see Him in that tiny fire called your soul. Love is kind and serving as our Lord was kind and serving. Love is patient as Christ is patient in forgiving you and I over and over, only looking for the good in you. True love is a happy love as the father had for his returning lost child. Love is it own reward, but we will be rewarded for eternity if we love through our loving Creator. God is true love and God wants us to love as His Son loves. Each of us can do that by becoming like Jesus and then we will in deed be love and loved.

May God’s love be in all of you.

Jesus has reserved you a ticket

The payment for this ticked was paid for by Christ on the cross. Surely you must see how wonderful you are to God by His holy efforts to brig you back to Him? What sort of friend would send their beloved son to die for you? What sort of friend would follow you through your whole life offering you help and his spirit? What sort of god would place you in his heart and speak your name with loving tender words? That God is the Holy Trinity. You are Their focal point. You are a son or daughter of the most high Father who made all things. Your Brother and Savior is God the Son who became man and offers this paid up ticket into His most loving and forgiving heart. The ticket is waiting right now, but all of these tickets have an expiration date. Go and look at yours and you will notice that on that ticket is the date that you will die. As you look, you will see that it cannot be read by anyone except the giver. The good thing about the ticket is that it is still good if you are reading this. Go and quickly take this ticket as there may not be much time left. Tell others that they also have tickets there and that they may miss out on this most wonderful invitation. By taking your ticket, you can be placed into the heart of the Divine Mercy who will forgive your sins and call you brother or sister. You then will become a most loved and treasured member of the family of the Trinity. In fact, you will have found your eternal home. Jesus has emptied Himself
April 4th. 2008

From St. Paul:
“Jesus though He is by nature God, did not consider His equality with God a condition to be clung to, but emptied Himself by taking on the nature of a slave, fashioned as He was to the likeness of men and recognized by outward appearance as Man.”

Even though taking on the nature of a slave was necessary, His real purpose was to humble Himself and became obedient to death; yes, to death even on the cross. This emptying restored to His Father all the glory that had been stolen from Him by sin and in the process redeemed sinning and sinful mankind.

Above from the “Spiritual Secrets of a Trappist Monk”  - Wonderful book

Jesus the Man, Jesus our God is waiting for all of us. He is here on this earth in the form of the Eucharist (the real presence). He is waiting as the Son of Mercy (the Divine Mercy). He is waiting as our merciful savior. We need to go to Him now as there is little time left. When we go, we need to go as a child and He will place us in His Merciful Heart. If not, then He will be our just judge.

God bless you and yours

How I have missed you
March 07,2008

I was sick and it was very late. My head throbbed and the cavities in my face ached. The very teeth in my jaws were pulsing with pain. I was restless and dehydrated and no matter what the position I put my body, I was uncomfortable. Wearing, socks, pants, a shirt, and a heavy robe all topped with a blanket could not warm me. My teeth chattered and my hands shook. Please O Lord Jesus I muttered, take this suffering as an offering for my sins and the sins of the world. As I lay there with my eyes closed I started to imagine that I was on the hill of Calvary, for in the distance I could see the cross outlined in black. As this mind picture became clearer, I could make out the suffering face of our Lord Jesus there on the cross. I could see his bloody pained face, and his blood stained hair. I then looked at my arms and feet and with a gasp realized that I was dressed in a Roman military uniform. In desperation, I cried out to Jesus “Please Oh Lord forgive me”. As I sobbed in pain at realizing what I had done, I heard the words “How I have missed you”. Coming back to my worldly senses, I realized that I was going to get better. As the pain in my head drifted away, I felt a closeness to my family that I have never experienced before. I had not seen them for many days, and I found that loving them through Jesus gave me even more strength. Yes I thought “ I am getting better”

Lent is a good time to look at sin
February 23rd. 2008

What is sin? A better question might be what are the fruits of sin? For to really understand sin, we must face it’s consequences. Sin has been around for quite a while. It started in heaven when Lucifer rejected Gods will. Lucifer and his collection of followers were thrown out of heaven and on to earth. As we might surmise from this, Lucifer had a gift that we humans have as well, that gift is free will or liberty. If we think that just one sin is really nothing, then look at what the one sin of our parents in paradise caused. Giving into Lucifer and wanting to be like God has caused great suffering for all us down through history. If you and I are not worried by sins, how can we not look at what sin has caused? To sum it up, “Sin causes all evil and suffering”. If our first parents had used their liberty to follow God's will, then we would all be enjoying what God had first prepared for His children.

Because of the sins of our first parents, all of his subsequent children were born bent and scared by original sin. Until Jesus was sent as our Redeemer, we were not even capable of entering heaven and spending eternity with our Creator. Look at what that one sin has caused. Look at all the hunger, suffering, wars, greed and death. None of this is from God. Would God invent abortion, slavery, wars, and all the other nasty things that men seem to create every day? Sin is always a going away from God. Everything God has ever done or created has been good and pure. No one is worthy of heaven and into Gods kingdom if they are sinners. From that statement, no one can ever enter heaven as we are all sinners. Only one human was ever sinless, and that was the mother of Jesus.

Just look at what sin has caused. In the last hundred years. We have had two world wars and many minor and not so minor ones. We are at war at this very moment. We have devised and created weapons that can and have been used to wipe out a whole city as in Japan. If we think an atomic weapon is bad, then take a look into even a greater evil that has killed probably close to a billion unborn children world wide. The sin is simple, and for greed and convenience sake, we murder our children. Abortion is a great killing machine and is not kept hidden, as it is just down the street from you and I and the building looks like many other buildings. Many people think it is a right. Lucifer is laughing at God. How wonderful abortion is and how easy it is to convince man that it is all OK. If men can be made to think it is OK to kill their unborn children, what else are they capable of? The answer is that because of sin, THERE ARE NO LIMITS. All of this caused BY JUST ONE SIN.

Looking at all this should make us sick, but there is even more to sin than what sinners do. If we really think that sin is awful, then we STILL DO NOT UNDERSTAND how much God dislikes sin. He dislikes it so much that we could be a saint all of our life, and in the last 20 seconds of our life commit a mortal sin and be worthy of hell for eternity. You and I might not like that, but we need to look at sin even deeper.

When we look at sin, we must look at what it does and has done to God. Look at what it did to Jesus who is God the Son. His face bled blood in the garden just thinking about what was to happen. Our sins were a great burden on our Savior. This simple and pure Son of God who loves you. Look at Jesus with his crown of thorns, look at God being spit upon and ripped and torn by the ones that hated Him. We all spit and rip and tear at our Savior by our sins.
Look at our Savior, the Son of God as we shout out every vulgar and impure thing we can think of. Look at our loving God nailed to the cross. Look Him slowly bleeding to death and racked with pain. Watch as the Lamb of God calls out to His Father and offers up all of this for you and I and our sins. How could we ever say that sin is nothing? How can we turn around from what we have done and think it is nothing? How could we ever say that sin does not hurt God?

This Lent, we need to think about our sins, and thank our Savior for the opportunity to be forgiven our sins. Go to your Savior as the Divine Mercy before it is too late. Look at the world, there may not be that much time to call on His great mercy, and when it is too late, we will have to go through His Justice. Trust in Him.

May the Son of Mercy, Our Divine Mercy free us all from sin.

The haves and the have nots – a world that has lost it’s faith, hope and love.
Feburary 19th., 2008

If Jesus was the physical ruler of the world, what would the world look like? I have often asked myself that question. Do we live in a world that God the Father approves, or have we some place along the way to now make a wrong turn? What things would Jesus forbid and what would He keep? Obviously, the wrong turn happened with Adam, and we have been turning in a circle that seems to dig a deeper and deeper hole. If the world had faith, hope and love in its heart, would that change things? Would you have a CD player and a fancy cell phone that plays music, surfs the Internet, takes pictures and generally keep your mind, eyes and ears as far away from God as possible? I think not! Would we all sit on our couches with our eyes fixed on endless hours of dribble and commercials. No way! Would we work on Sunday, go shopping, takes the kids to soccer practice? I would guess not on Sunday. Would you live in a heated, air conditioned home while other people lived in filth and shacks as they do in many parts of the world? I am sure you would not!. Would we dine at restaurants on sea food, steak and fresh vegetables flown in from three different countries and prepared just for our pleasure while small children starved to death. I would hope not. Would we visit our doctor and be given antibiotics while sick people are dying because there are no doctors or life saving drugs? Probably never. Would we build large armies and spend trillions on weapons instead of taking our riches and spending them on the common welfare? Don’t even think about that happening. Would just about anything that is good and pure and nourishing be part of our life if even one person on this earth were not a part of that? I would say never. Would there be a stock exchange, mutual funds and certificates of deposit. Surely not even in your dreams. Would there be chemical plants spewing out toxic poison, abortion, gene research and nuclear weapons. Not on this earth.

To me it looks like the very nature of our societies as a whole are NOT pleasing to God the Father. Why? Because we have left out huge blocks of people (the have nots). We have lost our faith in our Creator, and hope goes wanting in this world. Love is a physical thing that excludes everyone but self. We may say “I worked hard for all I have, and I don’t have enough for all the have nots”. That would be true, but a billion haves can take care of many billions of have nots if we only choose to have faith and hope in our Creator, and bless it with real love and charity. What if no one had a roof over their head until everyone did? What if every child went to bed with a full stomach? What if everyone cared for everyone else? What if we lived in a world where you were looked on as successful on how well you loved and how you served? I am sure that would be the world that Jesus would demand. It would be a world where everyone went to bed at night and slept in peace.

Just Like Bugs Bunny – We must have taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque!

Cheers and God bless you

The wounds of Christ
February 18th. 2008

Thinking thoughts that you have never thought before

Strange title, but then we are living in a new strange world that has never been lived in before. I am talking about our environment. I am talking about the world that is only one (1) big crop failure from starvation. That the world only has a 145 day surplus of grain. A world that is destroying our oceans, drinking water and food with waste, fertilizers from farming and the little flush of you toilet x number of times each day. I am talking about the fact that your tasty steak, big SUV, your air conditioning, and garbage you put out for pickup twice a week is about to tip our planet into a new world where you will think thoughts you have never thought before. I am talking about a planet where greed and lust for power and profit have stripped this world of a future for our children, and will replace it with one that you will have to think those new thoughts.

The Solution

Sadly there probably isn’t one that will insure that 6 billion people will quit living as they are now, and live a completely different life. You can blame capitalism and you can blame socialism or some other ism, but they are not really the problem. The problem is that financial or industrial growth cannot just keep going on forever at the expense of the earth. At the rate we are going, we are just about at the point of no return. You can just dump so much pollution into the air and earth and water before it comes back looking for you.

What does this have to do about a Divine Mercy Blog you might ask? The answer came through the door not more than five minutes after asking this question ( My wife returned from a mission she attended and gave me the answer). The answer is that our world is wounded and so are it’s people. If you look out on this earth you will see the wounds of Christ. His wounds are his people who are in need, and lost , greedy, self centered and godless except for them selves. They are the poor, the proud, the angry the lustful and the sick. All of these wounds inflict a great pain on the earth, and on our Savior Jesus Christ. The problem is that we have not lived, consumed, built or profited for Jesus, but for our self. We have thought no farther than the total in our bank accounts. The author is just as guilty of this as anyone who might read this. So is there really a solution for all the gloom and doom I have laid out in type? Will we finally inflict wounds on this earth and in our Saviors heart that will not heal? If there in no human solution, then there must be a Godly one. The solution is Jesus Christ. We must look into His wounds. We must see each of us there. Our sins are the thorns and scourging and nails on the cross that have done their work. We are those wounds and only through Christ can they be healed.

Like a Child
February 16th. 2008

“Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.” (Gospel of St. Mark 10.15) What is Jesus talking about as recorded by St. Mark? To understand that, we must be taught by a simple loving child. If you look closely, a child’s love is pure and simple. It is based on need and trust. In fact the trust is absolute. It has no if and buts connected to it, and it never wavers. A child is simple in their needs, but very much alive in all that they do. A child is joyful and giving. A child needs all things from their parents to survive.

I often just sit and watch my young grandson who is two years old. I am amazed how joyful life is to him. How he cherishes each discovery, and wants to share it with everyone. He makes me welcome when he first greets me after being away for a day. I have watched him hop with glee when seeing an uncle who has come to visit. When I look at him, I see purity and the very eyes of God in his face.

If you can see this, then you can understand the gospel of Mark. Can you love God not for what you want, but for what you have been given? Can you love God absolutely and with a pure heart? Do you trust in Him and almost laugh with joy every Sunday morning because you will receive Him in Communion? Is being there the best part of your day? Do you wake and go to sleep each day with your God? Is he there when you wake at night? Do you thank Him for your day? Do you smile when you think about Him and know that He loves you?

I would like to offer you this prayer I wrote about communion:

Sunday Morning

This is one morning that I look forward to. For years, it was just another day, but that was before I found a great treasure was dwelling in my church that was waiting for me. As I enter church, my first thought are of You Oh Lord Jesus, for You are there waiting for me. As I bow my head in respect, my thoughts go out to You. You are there and have always been there as long as I have lived, and I have wasted so much time until now to receive You as the greatest treasure God the Father has ever sent to his children. Thinking of how lucky I am almost makes me laugh with joy, as this treasure is for the rich and the poor. And as a poor Christian, I am made richer because of You Lord Jesus. Today, I will receive this great treasure in Communion. Oh Jesus, I am so sorry that I cannot receive You on my knees, for I have this great desire to worship You as my Lord and Savior. I am unworthy to receive You, but it is with hope and trust that I come to You and plead for Your mercy. All honor and Glory are Yours Oh Lord Jesus this day and all the days of my life.

AKITA Japan

On October 13, 1973, the Blessed Virgin Mary spoke to Sr. Agnes Sasagawa of Akita, Japan. Our Mother told sister Agnes "As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity."

Well that was in 1973 and If I am any kind of judge of this world, man has gotten worse, not better. It is for this reason (Feburary 12, 2008), I am posting the messages as given to Sr. Agnes.

The Apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Sr. Agnes Sasagawa of Akita, Japan
The extraordinary events began on June 12, 1973, when Sr. Agnes saw brilliant mysterious rays emanate suddenly from the tabernacle. The same thing happened on each of the two days that followed.

On June 28, 1973, a cross-shaped wound appeared on the inside left hand of Sr. Agnes. It bled profusely and caused her much pain. On July 6, Sr. Agnes heard a voice coming from the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the chapel where she was praying. The statue was carved from a single block of wood from a Katsura tree and is three feet tall. On the same day, a few of the sisters noticed drops of blood flowing from the statue's right hand. On four occasions, this act of blood flow repeated itself. The wound in the statue's hand remained until September 29, when it disappeared. On September 29, the day the wound on the statue disappeared, the sisters noticed the statue had now begun to "sweat", especially on the forehead and neck. On August 3, Sr. Agnes received a second message. On October 13, she received a final third message.

Two years later on January 4, 1975, the statue of the Blessed Virgin began to weep. It continued to weep at intervals for the next 6 years and eight months. It wept on 101 occasions.

The Messages

Here are the three messages of Our Lady of Akita to Sr. Agnes:

July 6, 1973

"My daughter, my novice, you have obeyed me well in abandoning all to follow me. Is the infirmity of your ears painful? Your deafness will be healed, be sure. Does the wound of your hand cause you to suffer? Pray in reparation for the sins of men. Each person in this community is my irreplaceable daughter. Do you say well the prayer of the Handmaids of the Eucharist? Then, let us pray it together."

"Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, truly present in Holy Eucharist, I consecrate my body and soul to be entirely one with Your Heart, being sacrificed at every instant on all the altars of the world and giving praise to the Father pleading for the coming of His Kingdom."

"Please receive this humble offering of myself. Use me as You will for the glory of the Father and the salvation of souls."

"Most holy Mother of God, never let me be separated from Your Divine Son. Please defend and protect me as Your Special Child. Amen."

When the prayer was finished, the Heavenly Voice said: "Pray very much for the Pope, Bishops, and Priests. Since your Baptism you have always prayed faithfully for them. Continue to pray very much...very much. Tell your superior all that passed today and obey him in everything that he will tell you. He has asked that you pray with fervor."

August 3, 1973

"My daughter, my novice, do you love the Lord? If you love the Lord, listen to what I have to say to you."

"It is very important...You will convey it to your superior."

"Many men in this world afflict the Lord. I desire souls to console Him to soften the anger of the Heavenly Father. I wish, with my Son, for souls who will repair by their suffering and their poverty for the sinners and ingrates."

"In order that the world might know His anger, the Heavenly Father is preparing to inflict a great chastisement on all mankind. With my Son I have intervened so many times to appease the wrath of the Father. I have prevented the coming of calamities by offering Him the sufferings of the Son on the Cross, His Precious Blood, and beloved souls who console Him forming a cohort of victim souls. Prayer, penance and courageous sacrifices can soften the Father's anger. I desire this also from your community...that it love poverty, that it sanctify itself and pray in reparation for the ingratitude and outrages of so many men.

Recite the prayer of the Handmaids of the Eucharist with awareness of its meaning; put it into practice; offer in reparation (whatever God may send) for sins. Let each one endeavor, according to capacity and position, to offer herself entirely to the Lord."

"Even in a secular institute prayer is necessary. Already souls who wish to pray are on the way to being gathered together. Without attaching to much attention to the form, be faithful and fervent in prayer to console the Master."

After a silence:

"Is what you think in your heart true? Are you truly decided to become the rejected stone? My novice, you who wish to belong without reserve to the Lord, to become the spouse worthy of the Spouse, make your vows knowing that you must be fastened to the Cross with three nails. These three nails are poverty, chastity, and obedience. Of the three, obedience is the foundation. In total abandon, let yourself be led by your superior. He will know how to understand you and to direct you."

October 13, 1973

"My dear daughter, listen well to what I have to say to you. You will inform your superior."

After a short silence:

"As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and priests."

"The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres...churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.

"The demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them"

"With courage, speak to your superior. He will know how to encourage each one of you to pray and to accomplish works of reparation."

"It is Bishop Ito, who directs your community."

And She smiled and then said:

"You have still something to ask? Today is the last time that I will speak to you in living voice. From now on you will obey the one sent to you and your superior."

"Pray very much the prayers of the Rosary. I alone am able still to save you from the calamities which approach. Those who place their confidence in me will be saved."

Church Approves Messages, Weeping Statue As Supernatural

April, 1984—Most. Rev. John Shojiro Ito, Bishop of Niigata, Japan, after years of extensive investigation, declares the events of Akita, Japan to be of supernatural origin, and authorizes throughout the entire diocese the veneration of the Holy Mother of Akita.

On April 22, 1984, after eight years of investigations, after consultation with the Holy See, the messages of Our Lady of Akita were approved by the Bishop of the diocese. In the Japanese village of Akita, a statue of the Madonna, according to the testimony of more than 500 Christians and non-Christians, including the Buddhist mayor of the town, has shed blood, sweat and tears. A nun, Agnes Katsuko Sasagawa has received the stigmata and has received messages from Our Lady.

June, 1988—Vatican City—Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, Prefect, Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, gives definitive judgement on the Akita events and messages as reliable and worthy of belief.

Encouragement – Live your mornings, live your nights
February 09,2008

What is your greatest fear? What really worries you at night? Is it your family?. Or do you worry about money? What do you think about when you wake up late at nigh? Is your Creator there looking at you, or are your thoughts of only your self? How often do you invite the Trinity into your very being? Or is what you want all that is there? Have you slept in the arms of your Father lately? Or do you sleep the sleep of one who is lost?

What are your last thoughts as you fall asleep? Do you live your life next to your Father, or have you pushed Him far far away from your heart?

Your Father is there waiting for the words “I need You”. He is there waiting to hear “ I love You”, He is there waiting for any small word. He is there waiting to whispering that He loves you and you are His most loved daughter or son. What a wonderful time to love your Father. Waking to Him is a wonderful way to start your day. Wrap your arms around him at night and sleep in His arms. You are His small small child who is lost and needs a secure guiding parent. Peel away your self centered ego and realize that you are nothing when you think that way. God is your very beginning and end. He is your reference and essence. Without Him there is only darkness. With Him there is joy, happiness and love. Reality is knowing that you are truly a child of God. Reality is not your bank account, your social security number or your house address. Neither is it who you are. If you know that you are the Fathers child and love him, then you are alive in the Spirit. What power you will then be given from the Father. Yes, you who are small and helpless and can do nothing good. Yes, you who are scarred with sin, you will be powerful.. That power will come from the Spirit, and will make you a doctor. A doctor that can walk through this dead world, and bring life back to the dead and suffering through Jesus Christ. Remember that you were formed in His image, that is, the Father wants you to be Christ like.

Sleep in His arms tonight and for ever after.
Your Brother in Christ

Pray for the United States, pray for the world

Can you see and feel it? Are you exposed to it every day? Its seems to be in places you would not expect, and has seeped into the very fabric of our life and culture. It wants to gather you up and consume you and your family. It has reversed good and bad, and replaced God with its failed sense of importance. We see it in our dress, speech, music, news, and cinema. We see it in the courts, politics and in our financial institutions. We see it in our schools and in our churches. We see it in our very homes and in our thoughts and in our private life’s. It attacks those who are pure and glorifies those who are not. It has robbed our children of their precious purity and corrupted all that is good. We see it in our foods and in our drink. We see it in our recreation and entertainment. Oh poor poor world how you reek and stink with evil and rotten godless things. The innocent cry out for vengeance for they have been robbed of their very life’s. We have corrupted marriage, and the family is slowly being destroyed. The hidden black fog of evil has settled upon us and permeates our world. Poor poor world, what have you to recommend your self? What do you have to offer up to your God in payment for His love and blessings? You have no shame and do not even know you are dead. Like a fish rotting on a beach, your stench radiates up and irritates the very nostrils of God. The Devil laughs for he is spoiling that which Gods loves most. That love is for you and I for we were created in His very image. Oh poor poor world, soon you will consume your self, and God will pluck the cancer from your very body. He will burn all that is dark and evil and bring His remnant to his very bosom. Pray for the world, this poor poor world.

How to love like you have never loved before

No, I am not talking about physical love, but that can be part of real love as well. I spent many years of my life just thinking that love was just some feeling that I had about people. Little did I know that this was just a way of dealing with things I neither cared about, or did not want to face. If it was ugly, or made me feel un-easy, I just chalked it up to something I did not love. Additionally, I had no idea that as a human, that I could never be wrong, even when I was. That may seem strange, but that part of ever human is placed there at birth. It is a part of your very being, and always makes you right and OK even when you are not. There is a reason for this, and it was placed there as part of surviving. How could you live a happy life always knowing you were not OK or wrong? This little thing "always being right or OK" can drive people to places where they don’t want to go. You have seen it in your life and in the life’s of others. We often call them "excuses" of reasons. To put love and always being right in its proper place requires that we understand the spiritual part of our being. Most people run from the not OK things in their life. Sin, bad choices and acts that displease God are often just made OK by our excuses and reasons. One we realize that it is natural to want to run and hide, then it will be much easier to make everything OK by reconciling it with our Creator. If we do not reconcile, then we are back into the running and hiding game. In that game, we just place the “not OK” some place in our mind where it is not seen very often. That place can be “I don’t care”, “Don’t look here”, "Store and forget” and so on. You might ask "What does this all have to do about love"? The answer to that is that if your "not OK" is just stored away and made OK that way, and you are not at peace with your Creator, then you can never really love. Here is How to love like you have never loved before:

  • Reconcile with God (Jesus made that possible by dying for your sins)
  • Love your God not just above all things, but to the exclusion of all other things. God does not want just to be on the top of the heap, He wants to be the ONLY one there.
  • Love every thing only through God

How do you love through God? It's not easy at times because we try to pass everything through our own mind and experiences. If you must love your wife, family, friends and even the world, love them because Jesus said you must. Doing that, you will look into the eyes of the world and you will  see Jesus looking back at you. Love as Jesus loved. Love as your have been commanded to love. Love only after passing it through the filter of your Creators approval. In loving that way, you can see the dignity of all people. You will love as God loves, and you will love because God is love. God wants you to be like Him, that is he wants you to be love as well.

Written with love

Your Brother Dennis

A Morning Message to God

Oh my God how most blessed I am for I realize that I am Your child. You alone are my focus and refuge. How dark it would be without the light of your love. If I did not have you Oh my God, who would I share the things of my life?

You are my refuge when things go wrong, When the world does not work and things seem like they have no solution. When sadness is my companion, I share that with you. When evil is all around me I only need to repeat your name and make my escape. When the world is going down the wrong path, you are my guide.

When the day is bright and there is love in my heart, I see that love put there by you, for love can only be perfect if it is from you, and I only share it with others. When I look into my children’s eyes or look at the smile on my spouses face, I see you oh my God. You are the cool breeze in the summer and the warmth of the sun in the winter. You sweep through my soul when I am open to you at these times.

You speak to me through others and when deep in prayer you are always there. Your message is simple but all encompassing. That simple message is “Love all others through me and you will love deeply”. “Love me above all things and I will share what I am with you forever”. Oh God of all things, how could I not love you, for I am your well blessed son who is well attended by your presence. You are there at any time and are only a thought away. How wonderful is to be in love with you, as all my actions placed in your hands are made good.

Father through your Son Jesus you have opened up the gates to your love. Please Oh Father through the blood your Son spilled for me, wash away the stains of sin and make me worthy of your attention and forgiveness.

All praise, honor, worship and glory are due you Oh my God. - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - For ever and ever. Amen

Who was Jesus?

Who was Jesus? Most Christians would say that Jesus is the 2nd. Person in the Holy Trinity. That while Jesus had a human body, he was also God the Son. Many other religions would have you believe that Jesus was a swell guy, or a great prophet, or perhaps never existed. I have always thought what I would say if I had to deal person-to-person on this subject. When my wife mentioned what C.S Lewis had written about Jesus, I was interested. C.S Lewis liked logic, and what I have posted below pretty well over flows with logic. If you read the Gospels, you will see that Jesus always said that he was divine. The apostles had ask Jesus to show them the Father, His answer was “IF you see Me, you see the Father”. If you believe this, then you must believe that Jesus was God. C.S Lewis takes this belief to a logical ending. You will have three choices about the statement “ IF you see Me, you see the Father”. Which one do you believe?

Trilemma - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
C. S. Lewis's trilemma
In the book Mere Christianity, Lewis famously criticized the idea that Jesus was merely a human being, albeit a great moral teacher:

I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to. (Lewis 1952, p. 43)

Lewis argues that Jesus made many claims to divinity, either explicitly or implicitly. As a result, he said, there are only three possible options:

1. Jesus was telling falsehoods and knew it, and so he was a liar.
2. Jesus was telling falsehoods but believed he was telling the truth, and so he was insane.
3. Jesus was telling the truth, and so he was divine.

Lewis’s argument was used by the Christian apologist Josh McDowell in his book More Than a Carpenter (McDowell 2001). The term "trilemma" (which Lewis did not use) is often used to refer to this argument. Although widely repeated in Christian apologetic literature, it has been largely ignored by professional theologians and biblical scholars.

Lewis' trilemma appeared at a time when scholars such as Albert Schweitzer and Rudolf Bultmann had portrayed Jesus' miracles and resurrection as myths. The concept that Jesus was not God but a wise man had gained ground in academic circles. The trilemma opposes the idea that Jesus was not divine, without relying on miracles for proof. In accepting the premise that Jesus had claimed divinity, he contradicted a viewpoint, popularized by H. G. Wells in his Outline of History, that Jesus had made no such claim.

In the news: AFGHANISTAN: Rising food prices push two million into food-insecurity. How would you face food-insecurity? What if you went to the local grocery store and could not afford food for your children. While greed pushes up grain costs to fuel American SUVs with bio-fuel, people all over the world are wondering how they can feed their families. Bio-fuel is probably one of the most stupid things ever forced upon the American public (and the world). While we pour out cars that can run on these fuels, mothers are worried about feeding their children. Grains have become so expensive that fewer and fewer people can afford access to it. While our government pushes bio-fuel and gives tax breakes as a solution for replaceing oil, we will all feel the results of this massively ignorant experiment. The problem with bio-fuels produced from corn is that producing it uses more energy than it produces. This experiment is really based in greed, as corn and other products are pushed up by speculation. These speculators contribute and produce nothing but inflation. What do they care about our headlines. They dont know anyone who has been pushed into food insecurity. Well, I hope I spoiled your expensive cup of coffee as you read this. There is a solution to all of this, but there are not even starting to be enough people who see everyone as their brother and sister. Everyone must think that way before things can ever turn around. I hope that you will begin thinking that way in this new year. Think about your brother and sisters that are in need. Where are they? If you dont know, then you have been sleeping.

God bless you and yours

Welcome - Sunday, January 13th. 2008

After watching the first 13 days of this new year (2008), I am like a lot of people startng to be worried about the future. Probably most of us feel that the world is out of control, and we are not the drivers. Here in the US, greed has returned to demand it's pound of flesh, and it looks like even the simple and innocent will pay for this greed. The world, and especially Americans have lived in a world where material things are the most important, and that there would never be a price to pay for its misuse. Money and profit have driven men to the extremes that we are soon to pay for. Parts of the world starve while we eat steak, and I have a very strange feeling that this will all come to an end soon. For profit and greed, we are stripping the world of its riches and leaving our children nothing for the future. Men worship power and riches while God is given nothing. What man has is more important than his soul, and life has become cheap as we continue to abort our children out of convienence.

If you have ever really thought about the "Our Father" prayer, you know the part that goes "Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven". When I look out on the world, these words haunt me, and for the first time in my life, I really yearn for them to become true. What this world really needs is for all of us to give in to the will of God. There is only one way to do that, and that is through His Son, the Son of Mercy, Jesus the Divine Mercy. So if you have arrived at this simple Blog, then I am going to explain the real meaning of life. That meaning is that there is no life unless it is through Jesus. So here it is:

Every thing you have ever seen or felt, or have never seen of felt or things that you may never see or understand are the result of God the Fathers work through His Son Jesus. God the Father does all his work through his most obedient Son. Therefore when he created you in His Image and likeness, he made you in the image of his Son. You are then the image of His Son who He loves. God send His only Son into this world, and His Son was obedient to the Father. That is what the Father expects of you. Therefore, men are not just random creations of the universe, but one of Gods most wonderful creations. When our egos, money, power, sex or what ever insane things seem to drive men to replace the will of the Father, we disgrace, foul and corrupt this most wonderful image of Jesus.

Remember, you are a stamp, and that stamp contains the Image of Gods Son, and your Saviour Jesus Christ. When you look into the eyes of anyone, you should see Him.

God Bless You
Dennis M. DeLaurier
